Aluminium cladding is relatively easy to fit and can be supplied by a DIY enthusiast. Sheet Metal Online’s Cladding system relies on a simple system of cladding rails for the interlocking cladding panels to be screwed directly onto the wall or surface.
It’s easy to work with Aluminium Cladding because it is:
Lightweight: Aluminium cladding is lightweight compared to other materials like brick or stone, making it easier to handle and manoeuvre during installation.
No Mortar or Adhesives: Unlike brick or stone cladding, aluminium cladding does not require mortar or adhesives for installation, simplifying the process and reducing the risk of errors.
Cost Savings: By installing aluminium cladding, you can save on labour costs for hiring professional contractors, making it a cost-effective option for budget-conscious homeowners.
DIY-Friendly Kits: We offer DIY-friendly aluminium cladding kits for homeowners and builders to install easily.
Online Resources: There is a wealth of online resources, including videos, forums, and instructional guides, that provide step-by-step guidance on how to install aluminium cladding, making it accessible to DIY enthusiasts.
When you’re ready to install your cladding system, it is worth noting that this is going to be one of your more straightforward tasks due to:
Flexibility: Aluminium cladding can be bent or shaped to fit irregular surfaces or architectural features, allowing for greater flexibility during installation.
Pre-Fabrication: Our aluminium cladding systems come prefabricated with integrated features like corner pieces or trim for the head and foot sections, reducing the need for complex cutting or fitting on-site.
Modular Design: The Aluminium cladding comes in modular panels and is easily cut to size using essential tools, allowing for a straightforward installation process.
Simple Fastening Systems: Our aluminium cladding systems utilise simple and intuitive screw fastening methods, which can be easily installed with standard tools like a drill or screwdriver.
No Specialised Skills Required: Unlike some construction tasks that require specialised skills, installing aluminium cladding typically requires basic DIY skills that can be learned quickly through online tutorials or instructional guides.
Sheet Metal Online have two types of Cladding System:
Both systems use an interlocking ‘Z’ panel that is screwed onto an aluminium ‘top hat’ rail system and fixed through a simple screw-fastening.
- The flat interlocking cladding system Z panel with a square-edged finish renders an aesthetically pleasing and beautifully smooth finish. Please note all colours and sizes are available, including custom and bespoke sizes and finishes.
- The Seamed Edge (Upstand) finish sits proud on one edge and adds depth and interest to a project.
